Pierre Alechinsky (born October 19, 1927) is a Belgian artist. He has lived and worked in France since 1951 in an array of mediums including painting, printmaking, drawing, and film making. He joined the "Jeune Peinture Belge" in 1947, and two years later joined the Cobra group. In 1952 he left the group to move to Paris to study under S.W. Hayter. He also traveled extensively across Europe, the Far East, the United States, and Mexico. His paintings are done in an abstract manner.
