Medium:Digital Photograph Print
Note: 11" x 14";24" x 26"
A double piece. The first image looks like a close up shot on a leaf. It is abstract and yellow, orange and red. The second looks like a shot of a field in the fall. The grasses are yellow and orange.
"Senescence: disintegrated, corroded, destroyed, consumed, perished, crumbled, worn away. These are all semantics that might come to mind when seeing an artifact that is aged and rusted. These descriptions might lead to a negative feeling of ugliness and a lack of aesthetic pleasure. In my photographs, I want to display how these aged artifacts could be looked at from a different point of view by pairing them with the organic. Over time, nature causes the artificial to age. Thus, the physical indication of aging represents the symbol of nature repossessing the artificial. In essence, they both go through physical changes, which in the end, creates resembling abstract qualities." -Jenna Marie Voogd
