"One of the functions of myth is to make sense of the world. Whether or not a culture uses myths they used to uphold social institutions or provide a religious experience, they all offer similar themes. The myths across diverse cultures and writings from Joseph Campbell inspire my images. These dramatic compositions incorporate several metaphors from ancient myths. The controlled events create a surrealistic realm within our modern world. While photographing in darkness I meditate on how serendipitous events reflect my life experiences.
