Historical Context:
Rana Chalabi is a Syrian/Lebanese artist who has been working in Cairo, Egypt, since 1981. She works in various media such as watercolor, charcoal, inks, mixed media, oils, sculptures, and printed graphics. She often does her watercolors on site but also works in her studio on the banks of the Nile. There are various themes in Chalabi's work ranging from Ancient Egyptian fantasies to still lifes.
