Historical Context:
Rana Chalabi is a Syrian artist who has been working in Cairo, Egypt since 1981. She works with various medias such as watercolor, charcoal, inks, mixed media, oils, sculptures and printed graphics. She often does her watercolors on site but also works in her studio on the banks of the Nile River. There are various themes in Chalabi's work, ranging from ancient Egyptian fantasies to still-lifes.
