Historical Context:
The horse is the seventh of the 12 animals that appear in the Chinese zodiac, which relates to the Chinese calendar and is an infinite 12-year cycle. It is supposed that the animal under which a person is born will influence that person's relationships, personalities and life events. People born in the year of the horse are described at their best as cheerful, popular, quick-witted, earthy, agile, intelligent and open-minded; and at their worst as arrogant, childish, anxious, rude, gullible, or rebellious. Horses were born in 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, or any years previous or following in increments of twelve years.
