Medium:

Description:
Raku vessel, rust colored. The lid is a circle shaped and really small compared to the rest of the pot.
Historical Context:
Raku is a firing method taken from a 16th century Japanese process in which the piece is removed glowing hot from a 2000° kiln and placed into combustibles. The resulting smoke and flame create a serendipitous display of vivid color on copper patina and unique carbon patterns on a piece’s unglazed areas.
