Description:
Silver colored ring with three brass tambourines. Each tiny tambourine is comprised of three small circles made of brass.
Historical Context:
I am drawn to the ring as a form and as a holder of meaning. A ring asserts its meaning whether it is through sentimentality, love, status, or otherwise. A ring seems the most honest piece of jewelry because of these meanings and how easily they are communicated often without the wearer's knowledge. A ring reflects the wearer's personality consistent over time, independent of changing moods. In my work, I try to make pieces with meanings that the wearer cannot escape communicating through passive wearing.
