Background: upper two-thirds dark blue, lower third white. Blue "V" shape near center, filled with gray squiggly lines running vertically.
Historical Context:
Cyril Lixenberg was born in London in 1932 and later lived and worked in Amsterdam where he was an active member of the contemporary art community. Additionally, the artist was a prolific printmaker and utilizes silk screen techniques to create images that are visually congruent with his large-scale steel work. Lixenberg is recognized for his monumental steel sculptures, some of which are present on GVSU's campus and in Grand Rapids public venues.
