Babu Lal Marotia was born in Jaipur, India. His childhood was deeply entrenched in color as his father, Natu Lal Marotia was a gifted Indian Miniature artist. When he was a teenager, Babu became part of the Nawalgarh House painting community. Here Babu learned a number of miniature painting techniques that helped him develop a unique style of his own.
