The image depicts land, sky, water, and various animals in characteristic Aboriginal visual vocabulary. Three multicolored fish in water. There is a bird near the top looking on the fish. signed and numbered, 189/400
Historical Context:
"In this painting, I wanted to have all the elements of Australia represented so that the participants of the WSMI 4th Asia Pacific Regional Conference could take away a lasting image that tied in with other design elements used in the conference. These elements range from the seas to the deserts to the bush. The spirit tree represents indigenous culture's vital link to the dream-time. The stars of the Southern Cross and a mist of other stars sail across the night sky. The jabiru, with its wings in flight, represents the nomadic culture of a walkabout. Within his wings are shapes reminiscent of the Sydney Harbor Bridge and Uluru, while the facial decoration echoes the sails of the Sydney Opera House." -Tracey L. Bostock
