Description:
Steel grate, wood and paint. There are 96 small carvings of diverse people within each square of the grid created by the grate. There are three "extensions" on the back of the piece to extend the whole piece about one inch from the wall. Each figure was checked and are secure to the piece
Historical Context:
Former antiques dealer Antonio Carlos Bech, better known as "Toti", began collecting old pieces of wood and iron in order to "give them a new lease on life", a project he started in late August of 1989. His creations and works of art attract architects, decorators and designers from Brazil and further.
