Unique in the history of American photography and Native American art, Lee Marmon was born in 1925 at the Pueblo of Laguna, New Mexico. For the past 60 years, Mr. Marmon has photographed Native people, ceremonies, and landscapes, capturing more than 15,000 images. The collection of the National Museum of the American Indian, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C., features 70 original photographs by Mr. Marmon.
