Historical Context:
Belgium Artist Henri Evenepoel was born in 1827 and entered Paris's Ecole des Beaux-Arts in 1892. His paintings show the influence of painters Edouard Manet and James Abbott McNeill Whistler. He is remembered today for his contributions to the Fauvism painting movement. Evenepoel died of typhus at the age of 27.
