Patrociño Barela is a contemporary New Mexico master woodcarver. His cedar carvings are expressive of the rich Indo-Hispano heritage of Northern New Mexico. He has been called the Picasso of the West and is considered an inspiration to many. The original artwork is in the permanent collection of the Harwood Museum of Art, University of New Mexico, Taos.
