Houses from Grand Rapids area drawn in rows; standard of living depicted in hierarchy: ritziest houses at top.
From a young age Rebecca Socia has always enjoyed being immersed in nature where she lives in “Up North” Michigan. Her passion for getting her hands dirty in the great outdoors is reflected in her choice of mediums for her artwork. She uses materials that favor hands-on application, such as; charcoal, watercolor, and fiber arts. While she often creates images of the Michigan wilderness, this image portrays the urban rows of housing developed throughout Grand Rapids, MI.
