Historical Context:
Maurice Cliot was an obscure French artist active in the early 20th century. He is best known for his piece "Aspirine- Usines de Rhone", which was a popular aspirin advertisement circa 1910. The original is currently held at the Philadelphia Museum of Art in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
