Historical Context:
A master printmaker, artist Takeshi Takahara, uses the Intaglio process to produce his prints. Takahara is a professor of printmaking and drawing at the University of Michigan School of Art and Design and uses the Japanese gampi paper in his prints and applies it to curved wooden slats, sealing them with persimmon juice.
