Mundus Imaginalis: Corpus Cognoscendi (Body of Knowledge)
Documentation Photograph (Configuration)
Artworks - Height: 31 in
Width: 20 in
Small green parts of lawnmower.
Mundus Imaginalis curiously incorporates the site of the Devos Center Complex. There are 34 objects (which can be considered artifacts or parts) and individual photographs of each of the 34 corresponding parts. There are also 3 large photographic composites that document the site, the parts, and the configuration. The 34 parts are the complete set of pieces resulting from the division of one whole form. They are within, and under the surface of, the Devos complex, and are no longer visible. The large image, "Corpus Cognoscendi" ("Body of Knowledge") presents the parts as recomposed in relation to each other. This arrangement layered over the site plan of the whole complex results in a corresponding site location for each individual part. One construct over another.
