Gold-leaf archways. Four against dark red-purple background.
Patricia Hendricks’ artwork is heavily influenced by two things, powerful female artists and 17th Century Italian Baroque art movement. Qualities frequently associated with the Baroque, such as lushness, grandeur, drama, and movement can be found in the contrast between the rich, bright gold of the architecture against the dark earthy tones of the background that give her images depth and imagination. Patricia is a local artist living in Grand Rapids, worked at GVSU in Art & Design (VMA).
