Historical Context:
"I thought it was fitting for a school of international business to reflect various world cultures. I felt that maritime exploration and shipping would be a significant way to integrate the entire art installation within the space. I wanted to create the feeling of a busy seaside port with the ship berthed right outside. After extensive research I chose to base my ship's painting on Thad Koza's 'America's Pacific Northwest in 1787.'" -Rosemary Ellis
