Historical Context:
Kathleen Kaiinowski is a landscape artist who works with oils and pastels. She currently resides in Michigan. She writes, "The images I have been drawn to are reminders of places that I have been, and recent experiences that challenge me to evoke the response that I felt at that time, to my paper or canvas. It is my intent that the paintings concept will hold a special meaning to someone else and that they will be touched by the paintings spirit. My intention is not just to record images in a realistic manner but to compose a mood through color, texture, depth and patterns. These elements combine to create an impression with each calligraphic stroke and mark that is made. For me, painting and drawing is a way of life and an unceasing learning experience."
