Claude Monet was born in France in 1840. When he was 11 years old he was enrolled in the Le Havre secondary school of the arts. When he was older he would travel to Paris. While he was in Paris, he would visit the Louvre and paint what he saw instead of repainting the classics. When he painted he met other artists who would later become impressionists as well. His art became well known and is seen in museums and collections around the world.
