Historical Context:
Russell H. Kirkhof was a co-founder of the Kirkhof Electric Company in the early 1900s. The company is based in Grand Rapids, Michigan and since its founding has become Kirkhof-Goodrich Inc., specializing in welding supplies. After a generous donation the Kirkhof Center, named after him, was erected in 2008 and is now a popular intersection on campus for student dining, social events, and studying.
