The Grand Rapids Festival of the Arts, commonly known as "Festival," fist began in 1970 after the 1969 installed of Alexander Calder's La Grand Vitesse sculpture. The three day festival centers around the sculpture at Calder Plaza. The festival features art from every discipline as well as a wide variety of food and music events.
