Historical Context:
Born in Eubonne, France, Claude Manoukian's work is largely inspired by the nature around which he was raised, namely the forest of Montmorency, renowned for its beauty. At age 14, he began attending courses at The École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, where he focused on creating textile design sketches, which later turned into scarf designing for several haute couture fashion houses such as Dior, St. Laurent, Gucci, and Givenchy.
