Color wood engraving: Information obtained indicates that two master carvers for the series of 100 prints carved approx. 3500 wood blocks. Given the fact that there could be as many as 35 blocks for each print, determining the number of colors and printing order would be impossible. So far I have not been able to ascertain who carved the blocks. Upon close examination it appears that there are many finely carved blocks printed in oil based inks.
