Historical Context:
This buoyant and effervescent print was achieved using multiple blocks and oil based inks. The artist often chooses to depict forests and farmlands in an apparently naïve manner, however achieving his effects using considerable skill and flair. Liu Chunjie trained at Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in North Eastern China. “Creating an artwork should be like this: finish it in a delightful and carefree mood, retain one’s natural instincts and set loose the wings of one’s imagination – let them fly and drift”. - Liu Chunjie
