Historical Context:
Dan Mitra was born in Romania and later came over to the United States where is interest in etching was fostered. He had been successful as a graphic designer, painter, sculpture and drawing but his highest acclaim is for his sketches. His subject matter covers a wide range of topics, but he approaches it always from a decorative viewpoint and creates a pleasant addition to any interior with his distinctively fine line, unflawed technique, and attention to subtle detail.
