Giant round metal pendulum with a spike on the bottom.
Dale Eldred was an internationally acclaimed sculptor renowned for large-scale, city-wide sculptures. Influenced by Alexander Calder, his works are meant to emphasize the placement of objects in nature and impact of light. This sculpture, created in 1973, is called a bifilar pendulum, and was originally a part of the Kirkof Center, where it hung for six years. The piece was moved to the outside of the Padnos Hall of Science in 1995.
