Description:
Thirty-five black and white cows displayed in a grid-like pattern on a kelly-green background. Each cow has it's individual name underneath in alphabetic order (such as Angie, Annette, Babe, etc.). Signed by artist LR.
Historical Context:
Stephen Frykholm received his M.F.A. degree in 1969 from Cranbrook Academy of Art. After his graduation, furniture icon Herman Miller, Inc. hired Frykholm to be their first internal graphic designer. Thirty-nine years later he still holds this position and continues to produce memorable promotional and marketing pieces for the company. Frykholm has received numerous honors, including the Ad Club of West Michigan's annual Silver Medal Award and the American Institute for Graphic Arts Fellow Award and has also exhibited his work extensively in both national and international venues.
