The Horton Bay General Store is located in Boyne City, Michigan, not far from Lake Charlevoix and Walloon Lake in northern region of the Lower Penninsula. The store was built in June 1876, and is known locally for its connection to American author Ernest Hemingway. Hemingway spent a significant portion of his childhood in the area, and the store is alluded to in two of his novels.
