Daleene Menning received her M.F.A. in Ceramics and Painting from the University of Michigan in 1970. She was the head of the Ceramics Department at Grand Valley State University for 31 years proceeding her own academic education. Menning is locally recognized for her large scale ceramic tile murals that can be found at this university, as well as the Grand Rapids Bus Station and Meijer Heart Hospital.
