Sue Coe began her career as an illustrator for publications such as the New York Times and Time Magazine. Coe's work tends to have a political focus and her intent is to gather attention to causes that the media might ignore. She has created visual discourses on causes such as animal rights and racial discrimination. Her work is featured in many major museums including the Museum of Modern Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. This piece was created during her stay at GVSU as a visiting artist.
