Three children eating cookies with milk at a table with an adult looking into the refrigerator.
"Children seem to know the best way to live. They look for adventure in everything and care little for possible injury or parental disapproval. When children play games, the world they imagine becomes more real to their senses than the external stimuli of their mundane, everyday surroundings. These illustrations follow a few kids through their day. As soon as they are left alone for a short while, their imaginations take them to different places. It is difficult to tell what is real and what isn't. Still, anything that would seem unusual or out of place to adults is normal to them. When people see my work, I would like them to remember what it was like to be a child. Maybe learn to treat life the same way. And always know that there is a place to escape to, even if it is only in your head." -Caroline Hardy
