Description:
Dark purple tie-dyed fabric with stripes of blue. Some stripes are solid, others a fishbone pattern.
Historical Context:
To create stitch-dyed fabrics, the artist use a needle and raffia strings or cotton threads, some of which are still visible, to sew pleats of fabric together. They also use a technique in which pebbles are sewn into the fabric to create the vibrant chain-like effect.
