Historical Context:
Alejandro Pecorelli's religious upbringing in Argentina has had a strong influence on his work. He works with mixed media, including ink, bronze leaf and wax seal. Pecorelli was heavily influenced by the discovery of how to find the missing text from "palimpsests", manuscript pages from a scroll or books that are often religious in nature, from which the original text has been partially removed, and the manuscript reused. From these, one can translate the original text that would be nonexistent otherwise.
