Historical Context:
"My favorite thing about Peru is how close Peruvians hold traditional attire, rituals, and customs to their hearts. This photo is representative of that as it shows a traditionally dressed Incan woman creating a colorful Incan Chinchero (Textile). This skill requires a labor-intensive process of twining and dying the alpaca wool and can sometimes take months to complete. For this reason, watching this woman explain how Chincheros are created was truly a magical experience." - Alexandra Weaver
