Description:
Paper, Heelball and backing board; Black paper, white wax on a white board. Ten "small men" wearing capes and swords. Children in a monumental brass.
Historical Context:
Wax rubbing of the funerary brass detail “children”. This panel would have been part of a larger funerary brass celebrating the life of the children’s parent. During this time children were often included on brasses but they would be depicted as smaller adults, no matter how old they were (or if they themselves had died) at the time the brass was made.
