Paper and Heelball; White paper with black wax. Short hair (above ears), exposed head and no facial hair. Helm behind his head. Extremely large elbow pieces. Standing on a dog who is missing half its face.
Wax rubbing of the funerary brass of an unknown man that is dated around 1460. The original brass is located in Oxfordshire, England. These rubbings were taken by placing paper over the brass plate and carefully rubbing them with a wax crayon so that an impression was left on the paper. Many churches no longer allow the public to take rubbings of these historic brasses in order to preserve them.
