Historical Context:
Wax rubbing of the funerary brass of Thomas Latton and his Unnamed wife. The brass is dated around 1515 although there is no confirmed death date. The original brass is located St. Michael’s Church in Berkshire, England. Rules had been put in place before this time that limited the size of decorative elements in armor, which is one of the reasons that his armor may not seem as dramatic as other brasses in the collection.
