Paper and Heelball; Black paper with silver wax. Woman with veil and dress, small dog at her feet.
Wax rubbing of the funerary brass of Margery Brounyng (d. 1420). The original brass is located in the Church of Northamptonshire in England. The small dog at her feet was probably a pet she had in life, it was a common trend for depictions of women to include their lap dogs as a sign of status.
