Plastic, Wood, Cloth; A facsimile of the original brass designed so that rubbings could be made off of this instead of the original. A gold figure is placed on a fake granite background.
Historical Context:
Replica of the funerary brass of Sir George Felbrigge (d. 1400). The original is located at St. Mary’s Church in Suffolk England. This is a replica of the brass designed for tourists to be able to create their own rubbings after it was decided that the original brass needed to be preserved. Rubbings can still be taken from this replica.
