Historical Context:
Wax rubbing of the funerary brass of Paul Dayrell (d. 1491) and his wife Margaret. The original brass is located at St. Nicolas Church in Buckinghamshire, England. Paul is dressed in large decorative armor, Margaret is wearing high necked dress with a butterfly headdress. The Lion at his feed is most likely a family symbol.
