Paper and heelball Rubbing: Rubbing of a brass cover for the grave of Thomas Quatremayn. Black paper with gold wax. Dressed in armor with flowers between his feet and on his belt
Wax rubbing of the funerary brass of Thomas Quatremayn (d. 1342). The original brass is located at St. Mary’s Church in Oxfordshire, England. The full funerary brass includes Thomas, his wife Katherine, their son Thomas and their daughter-law Joan. It is believed that Joan was the one who commissioned the brass of the four of them after her husband's death.
