GVSU College of Education 50 Years
Medium:Acrylic on Board
Painting on canvas of a tree and its roots. Tree leaves are made out of fingerprints. Roots have names of local public schools.
This piece was created in correlation with the 50th Anniversary of Grand Valley State University’s College of Education (1964-2014). It was created to celebrate the growth and connections between the College of Education, the school districts that we serve, as well as the students that are touched by the involvement and time spent with GVSU’s pre-service educators. Many school districts in Michigan keep us rooted in our practice and the leaves of the tree are the many students that GVSU College of Education faculty and pre-service teachers help grow and mature through their educational experience.
