Historical Context:
The American painter, writer and naturalist Walter Anderson was born and raised in New Orleans, and died there of lung cancer in 1962. He is know for several of his woodblock prints and murals that are on display at The Walter Anderson Museum of Art in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
