Description:
Square shaped tiles that have a flat pyramid like shape on the back. Front has a flower pattern.
Historical Context:
These tiles are examples of replacement tiles for the tomb of Mongol ruler, Oljeitu who died in 1316. The tomb is located in Sultanieh in Northern Iran. During the summer of 2003 the tomb was being repaired. These pieces were flawed replacements made on site while repairing the decoration on the tomb.
