When performed under the guise of companionship, a person can miss the subtleties involved with psychological and emotional trauma. Often absorbed as flawed character traits the wounds are enacted over time as countless tiny barbs; persisting longer and imbedding deeper. The individual must firmly hold to the belief that a companion isn’t capable of such malicious intent in order to survive the prolonged exposure.
