Historical Context:
"According to a growing community of scientists, we are currently living in the anthropocene, the geological epoch during which human activity has been the dominant influence on climate and environment. Through the process of print making, I seek to express the complexity of living in a world that we completely rely on. The dense and unraveling landscapes allude to the cause and effect of our anthropogenic ways. They mirror the tension created by our need for earthly resources and the need for those resources to sustain. Through layering and the juxtaposition of imagery, my prints connect humankind to our environment." - Kristina Petrash
